The iconic lineup of Mark, Tom, and Travis reunites for the first time in in a decade.

It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s now here. Tom DeLonge has rejoined blink-182 after nearly ten years away from the band he founded.

To commemorate the occasion, the band – which is now back to its iconic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker – has announced a massive world tour, including some major arena gigs in Australia in early 2024.

Blink will not be arriving alone. Rise Against, a hugely prominent Chicagoan rock band, will be joining them, making this one heck of a double bill.

All of the dates and ticket information can be found at the bottom of the article.

DeLonge left blink-182 in 2015, and Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba replaced him. His reappearance has been rumoured for some time, most notably in August of this year after he uploaded an Instagram photo of the band.

It’s been 30 years since Hoppus and DeLonge founded blink-182 and nearly 25 years after Barker joined them, just as the band broke through to become mainstream punk rock darlings.

While there were many influential punk bands in the 1990s, few can claim the same enduring influence that Blink has today. Enema Of The State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and 2003’s self-titled album are all important records in the history of pop-punk.

Australia has had a special relationship with this band since its inception. Those who saw their first tour here in the mid-1990s remember how wonderful the gigs were, and each following visit saw them play to larger and larger crowds.

The band’s last Australian gigs were in 2013 as part of the Soundwave festival, though drummer Travis Barker did not make the trip due to a fear of flying caused by a catastrophic 2008 plane crash that he survived.

Barker is back in the air and will be performing with the band for the upcoming shows.

The band has had a busy year or so. In addition to the reunion and Barker’s improvement with flying, Mark Hoppus was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2021 and was proclaimed cancer-free at the end of last year.

In addition to the tour announcement, blink-182 has promised new music, with their new track ‘Edging’ slated to drop this Friday.

The band’s reunion was announced with a video that can only be described as “extremely blink-182.”

We’re not sure why you’re reading an article about blink-182 if you’re allergic to double entendres and childish comedy, and you should probably skip the video below.
