QUAVO AND TAKEOFF GET “MESSY” FOR HALLOWEEN IN NEW VIDEO

Quavo References Saweetie Elevator Incident in “Messy” Video

Quavo & Takeoff -"Messy" (Official Video)

In the new music video for “Messy,” off their collaborative album Only Built For Infinity Links, Quavo and Takeoff go on a horror-themed vacation. Look it up below.

The video, directed by Quavo and Daps, was released on Monday (October 31), just in time for Halloween. Quay and Take are seen sleeping in a car before waking up, both disturbed by their dreams.

The film moves on to a house where the Atlanta, Georgia, residents encounter a number of strange occurrences as they stroll through various rooms.

When the album was first released, “Messy” caused quite a commotion, with many believing Quavo was referring to his separation with Saweetie and accusations that she had an affair with someone in his group.

“I said ‘Caresha, please,’ ‘cuz she’s too filthy / Bitch fucked my dawg behind my back, but I ain’t worried / You wanted the gang?” “You shoulda just said it, we’d have simply blessed it / Now things went messy,” Huncho rapped on “Messy.”

While Quavo did not identify anyone in specific, many listeners assumed he was alluding to his cousin and partner-in-rhyme Offset sleeping with his ex-girlfriend Saweetie, implying it was the cause of the Migos’ abrupt breakup earlier this year.

Other fans assumed Quavo was referring to another Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, who was linked to Saweetie last year.

The 4PF boss appears to have addressed the incident on the songs “Stand On It” and “Not Finished” from his recently released album It’s Only Me. Fans assumed Baby was implicated in the nasty scenario between Quavo and Saweetie after he spewed a few verses.

I don’t want yo bitch, we can’t swap out (Swap out)/ They ain’t on shit, tell ’em to pop out (Pop out),” he raps on “Stand On It.”

Then, on “Not Finished,” Lil Baby appears to refer to a photo of the Icy Girl purportedly sitting on his lap during a New York shopping spree, which sparked suspicions of the two dating last year.

Baby raps on the song, “She publish a picture without my permission/ Got me in some crap, man, these women is insane.”

Quavo and Takeoff are now working as a duo, but they are eager to regroup as Migos with Offset on one condition.

On a recent edition of Drink Champs, Quavo asked the podcast crew who, excluding OGs, they believed could challenge him and Takeoff in a Verzuz match-up. N.O.R.E. couldn’t decide and instead inquired if fans could expect a one-night-only Migos Verzuz reunion.

“And we can’t do a Migos reunion for one Verzuz? No? That’s not gonna happen,” N.O.R.E. asked before Takeoff simply answered: “If the check right.”

At 2:45, security footage shows Quavo leaning on the corner of an elevator. The image alludes to a reported 2020 incident involving him and Saweetie in which she swung at him before a scuffle erupted inside an elevator at a North Hollywood apartment complex.

Quavo concludes the sequence by picking up an orange Call of Duty case and shrugging at the camera. Quavo appeared to push Saweetie to the ground in the security video as the two struggled over an orange Call of Duty case. He eventually placed the case in such a way that the elevator door could not close, and waited for Saweetie to rise from the floor.

Quavo released a statement in response to the elevator footage, denying he was ever physically abusive towards Saweetie. “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from,” he said. “I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”

“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” Saweetie said of the incident.

The couple split up before the video became viral. Saweetie revealed their separation on Twitter, offering a slightly cryptic comment about what caused them to split up. “I’ve undergone too much treachery and hurt behind the scenes for a fake story that diminishes my reputation to be circulating,” she wrote. “Presents don’t heal hurts, and love isn’t genuine when closeness is given to other women.”
