While House of the Dragon was received with open arms, fans are now awaiting ‘Snow’ (title confirmed by Thrones creator George R.R. Martin in June 2022) – a series following the life of Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington).

Millions of people love Game of Thrones, and fans all around the world are impatiently awaiting more prequel and sequel spin-off shows. While House of the Dragon was well received, fans are now looking forward to ‘Snow,’ a series chronicling the life of Jon Snow (title revealed by Thrones creator George R.R. Martin in June 2022). (played by Kit Harington). There appears to be an update presently.

According to multiple reports and pictures/videos on social media, Kit attended the final day of the three-day Game of Thrones conference with several actors from both GoT and its prequel series, HOTD. While there, the actor didn’t reveal much about the spin-off series, but he did give light on his character’s mental state following the end of the original show. Continue reading.

Kit Harington spoke on his character’s punishment at the end of Game of Thrones at the convention. According to Entertainment Weekly, the King of the North stated, “I think if you asked him, he’d feel he got off lightly.” When we discover him in that cell at the end of the show, he’s preparing to be beheaded and wants to be. “He’s done,” the Jon Snow actor continued, “and the fact that he goes to the Wall is both the greatest gift and the greatest curse.”

During the event, Kit Harington discussed Jon Snow’s current state of mind and how we might see him in the next spin-off series. “He’s gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live his life thinking about Ygritte (Rose Leslie) dying in his arms, and live his life thinking about how he hung Olly (Brenock O’Connor), and live his life thinking about all of this trauma, and that, that’s interesting,” the Game of Thrones star said.

While it’s not the formal declaration fans were hoping for, Kit Harington’s words do provide an insight into Jon Snow’s life following the Game of Thrones conclusion.

Harington essentially said Ghost was “really difficult to film” and the dire wolves in general “were costing more than they could give in Game of Thrones, the show.”

“I do think Ghost has a place in… I mean, he’s brilliant in the books,” Harington went on to say. “And he’s such an interesting dynamic, those wolves are with the kids. I think he, you know… I think there’s… I don’t know where I’m going with that. I’m just saying they are very difficult to film.”

House of the Dragon, which premiered Aug. 21, marks the first Game of Thrones successor series. The prequel goes back hundreds of years before the original fantasy drama to chronicle the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war that erupted within the once-thriving Targaryen empire between Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) over the Iron Throne of Westeros.

Other treatments for spin-offs that could possibly expand the television franchise, if they ever get a green light, include Ten Thousand Ships, about Princess Nymeria of the Rhoynar; The Sea Snake, about the voyages of a young Corlys Velaryon (played on House of the Dragon as an older man by Steve Toussaint); The Hedge Knight, based on Martin’s The Tales of Dunk and Egg; and animated projects.
