Brie Larson is unsure whether she still wants to portray Captain Marvel. When asked if she would play the superheroine again, the Academy Award-winning actress responded with a sardonic smile, acknowledging the character’s hatred for her interpretation.

Larson attended the D23 Expo on September 10 to promote ‘The Marvels,’ according to aceshowbiz.com.

When asked, “How long will you play Captain Marvel?” she joked, “I don’t know. Does anyone want me to do it again?”

When senior editor of Variety Marc Malkin humorously pleaded, “”Don’t be so furious at us,” the ‘Room‘ actress said again, “I don’t know.” I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what the answer is.”

Brie got messages of support from fans after Variety shared a clip of the interview on its official Twitter account.

“Love how the Marvel actors came to Chris Pratt’s aid when people were mocking him for maybe being homophobic but can’t lift a finger to support Brie through years of internet scrutiny and harassment,” one sarcastically said.

“I want one person in the comments to explain to me what’s so awful about Brie’s portrayal of Captain Marvel without moaning about her having short hair and being a woman,” said another, defending Brie’s portrayal of Captain Marvel.

Meanwhile, another commenter chastised Brie for “always coming across as incredibly smug and haughty in her interviews when Cap Marvel came out.” According to the critic: “She believes she is being clever, yet it comes out as unpleasant. This appears to be another situation where she believes she’s being playful but doesn’t come across as such.”

Many others disagreed with the hater, with one saying, “Although you do have a point, I think you should walk a mile in her shoes before you condemn her nonverbal behaviour on camera.” She understands there isn’t anything she can say or say it in a way that won’t earn her a lot of flak.”

Another person defended the actress, saying, “I don’t think she thinks she’s being playful, and it doesn’t seem she thinks that either kind of a rude thing for you to assume aloud.” I’m sure she’s had enough of Twitter comments like yours. “I liked her in the role and hope she keeps it.”
