What Happened to Kody Brown and Christine from Sister Wives?

Christine acknowledged her divorce from Kody in November 2021, revealing the news on her Instagram.

Christine said on her Facebook page, “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have drifted apart, and I have made the terrible decision to leave.”

“As we parent our lovely children and support our amazing family, we will continue to be a significant presence in each other’s life.” At this time, we beg for your patience and kindness as we negotiate this moment in our family’s life.”

“Christine’s choice to depart comes with a great degree of sadness,” Kody said in his statement.

“We spent many years together, and I have a great deal of respect and regard for her.” Although we are taking different paths, we will always be committed parents.”

The separation may not have come as a surprise to Sister Wives viewers, as Season 16 highlighted the impact the COVID-19 pandemic was putting on Christine and Kody’s relationship.

Kody’s rigorous requirements for his wives sparked friction as he requested them to spend time exclusively in their personal residences while he was allowed to roam between the many family abodes.

On the broadcast, Christine also disclosed that Kody no longer desired a “intimate relationship” with her.

Christine revealed on Sister Wives, “He replied, ‘I’m not interested in having an intimate marriage anymore.'” “I’m not willing to stay in a marriage where there is no intimacy.”

Christine also told up about Kody not travelling with their daughter Ysabel when she needed surgery ahead of Season 17 of the TLC show.

In August, the actress told People magazine that Ysabel, aged 19, would have to travel to New Jersey in September 2020 for scoliosis surgery.

Kody did not accompany Christine and Ysabel on their trip because he did not want to travel during the pandemic.

“I stayed in New Jersey with Ysabel during the procedure. And I recall them asking, ‘Are you here alone?’ ‘Where has your husband gone?'” said Christine

She went on: “‘Oh, he’s not here,’ I think. And they’re like, ‘Wait, isn’t that difficult?’ ‘No, it’s difficult for her,’ I say. It’s difficult for Ysabel, but not for me. It served as a good wake-up call. Of course, I would have preferred to have him there because it was what Ysabel required. But I didn’t require him any more.”
