Greater battery capacity and e-SIM technology coming to iPhone 14 Pro models: Goodbye to SIM card ?

There are rumours that the iPhone 14 Pro will have a larger battery. New e-SIM technology is what Apple is concentrating on as per analyst Mark Gurman.

The new iPhone 14 pro series will be unveiled during Apple’s Far Out event in just one day. For months, the specifications and features have been routinely making headlines. We’ve heard a lot about the iPhone 14 lineup so far, from the bigger iPhone 14 Max to boosting the camera and other features on the iPhone 14 Pro. And now a new leak has revealed its battery specifications.

The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to have a larger battery capacity. In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed that Apple will boost the battery size of the iPhone 14 Pro versions compared to last year.

Earlier in June, it was reported that the iPhone 14 base variant with a 6.1-inch display will be powered by a larger 3,279mAh battery compared to the 3,240 mAh battery of the iPhone 13, while the new iPhone 14 Max will have 4325 mAh battery capacity, the iPhone 14 Pro will be equipped with 3200 mAh, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will pack a 4,323mAh battery, which is less than the 4,352mAh battery of the iPhone 13 Pro.

However, Gurman stated that the iPhone high-end models will most likely have larger batteries. He also mentioned some of the significant enhancements that we might see on the next iPhone 14 lineup. Check out all of the improvements that will be made to the forthcoming iPhone.

Apple’s iPhone 14 vs iPhone 14 Pro series: What to Expect

Changes and updates for iPhone 14 Pro models are expected.

  2. Enhancement of facial-recognition sensors
  3. A new 48MP wide-angle camera with improved telephoto and ultrawide-angle sensors, as well as improvements to video recording and low-light photography.
  4. The robust A16 chipset
  5. A slightly larger overall size with narrower bezels.
  6. A redesigned notch for the camera and Face ID sensors.

Aside from that, he stated that Apple is working on eSIM technology, with carriers ready to entice people to adopt digital, embedded SIM cards rather than physical ones. “In fact, Apple has explored deleting the physical SIM card port entirely beginning either this year or next for some models,” he said.

Battery life has been improved with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, and it lasts an hour longer than the iPhone 13 Pro models. The iPhone 14 Pro lasts for up to 23 hours when watching videos, and the Pro Max lasts for up to 29 hours when watching videos.
