People’s choice was unveiled on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show and on the magazine’s website on Monday night. Evans, who has played Captain America in Marvel’s vast superhero flicks for nearly a decade, takes over from another Avenger, Paul Rudd.

“My mom will be so happy,” he told the magazine for its cover story, which hits newsstands on Friday. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”

He is also aware that he will most likely be taunted by close pals. In an interview, he remarked, “Really, this will just be a point of bullying.” “It’s prime territory for harassment.”

Co-stars and previous Sexiest Man Alive winners like Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth are sure to heckle him. (Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, was the first Avenger to get the People’s Choice Award, which was initially given to Mel Gibson in 1985.)

Others who have received the award in the past include John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham.

Evans, 41, was interviewed at a Georgia farmhouse, where he discussed establishing a better work-life balance. “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas,” he said.

Evans’ first film role was in “The Newcomers” in 2000, and he then played superhero Johnny Storm in two “Fantastic Four” films in 2005 and 2007. He rose to prominence, though, with the publication of “Captain America: The First Avenger” in 2011.

He’s played the wholesome superhero in ten Marvel films since then, finally laying down his shield after saving the universe in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.

Evans has become a bankable star after voicing Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s “Lightyear” film and playing a vicious assassin attempting to assassinate Reynolds in Nextflix’s “The Gray Man,” both of which were released this year.

According to People, the actor is considering marriage and starting a family, saying, “That’s totally something I desire.”

He claimed he didn’t anticipate to share much about his personal life in public. “Somethings you want for yourself, or for my family and friends.”

In addition, the Boston native maintains his connection with A Starting Point, a civic engagement website he co-founded in 2020.

Evans anticipates that People’s recognition will be a watershed moment in his life and career.

“It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…'” Evans said. “I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”

Soon after, Chris Evans shared his reaction to winning the championship in a video that aired on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Stephan, the host, began by making fun of how last year’s winner, Paul Rudd, was picked following funny scientific investigation. He then went on to present a video greeting from Chris after he won the championship this year. Dwayne Johnson was seen chatting with him after the victory in the video.

He convinced Chris that he deserved to share the title with him because he had previously been named the sexiest man alive and had refused to relinquish the title. Chris concurred. When asked for a seductive message, Chris replied, “Go vote tomorrow.”

Chris has gone a long way since his debut television series, Opposite Sex, in 2000, to playing Steve Rogers/Captain America, who was dubbed ‘America’s Ass’ in the 2019 Marvel film, Avengers: Endgame. In The Gray Man, he was matched against Ryan Gosling.
