Apple’s fourth-gen iPhone SE will feature a 6.1-inch LCD with a notch.

Apple to feature 6.1-inch LCD with notch on 4th Gen iPhone SE, reveals new report.
  • Apple is planning to release a new iPhone SE model in 2024.
  • It may come with a 6.1-inch LCD display.

Apple iPhone SE has a two-year release cycle. Earlier this year, the Cupertino-based corporation released the third generation iPhone SE model. However, rumours concerning the fourth-generation model have begun to circulate. Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) expert Ross Young believes the smartphone would have a 6.1-inch LCD screen with a notch cutout at the top. When it comes to delivering insights on Apple products, Young has a very solid track record.

According to him, Apple intends to deliver a new iPhone SE model in 2024. It could have a 6.1-inch LCD display with a hole-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera. It is unclear whether the phone’s front camera will allow FaceID like other iPhone models. According to certain reports, the fourth-generation iPhone SE model may keep TouchID. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and a tip from MyDrivers, Apple may include a side TouchID button to the phone, similar to the iPad Air and iPad mini.

Furthermore, the notch on the upcoming iPhone SE model may be narrower than the predecessor. According to leakster Jon Prosser, the upcoming iPhone SE will have a design identical to the iPhone XR.

However, Ross hasn’t revealed anything about the possibility of the inclusion of a TrueDepth camera to support the Face ID on the new iPhone SE devices.

The addition of a larger display precludes the use of the capacitive Touch Id Home button, which has been a mainstay of the iPhone SE series. However, multiple other sources suggest that Apple will include a Touch ID Side Button on the upcoming iPhone SE, similar to the ones found on the iPad Mini and iPad Air.

Apple debuted the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro models at its recent ‘Far Out’ presentation. It’s basically an interactive notch that houses the iPhone’s front camera and Face ID sensor. The redesigned notch displays notifications, alerts, and app shortcuts. It is now only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to the source, Apple will declare the iPhone 5c outdated on November 1, halting all repairs and services.

According to the article, the iPhone 5c was an iconic iPhone debuted in September 2013 with the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5c was the first to be available in a rainbow of colourful hues, including blue, green, pink, yellow, and white, in a “unapologetically plastic” design.

It was also the first time Apple introduced a lower-end iPhone model geared at price-conscious buyers, with the 16GB model starting at $99 with a two-year contract in the United States.

Apple also indicated that its third-generation iPad mini, as well as Wi-Fi and TD-LTE, will become obsolete on the same day, November 1.

Aside from this upgrade, the EU recently enacted legislation requiring all companies to switch to Type-C chargers by the end of the year, including Apple. All businesses have been requested to comply with this modification by the autumn of 2024.

According to the EU, this step will allow customers to save up to 250 million euros by the end of the year. Users will no longer need to use several chargers. It is estimated that around 11,000 tonnes of e-waste are generated each year. According to rumours, Apple has already begun working on the Type-C changeover and may complete it as early as 2023. It also implies that the next iPhone from Apple may include a Type-C charging port.
